Kopperl Official Commemorative Partner

Kopperl ISD is thought to be the first total school district in our Nation to have become an official Commemorative Partner for the 50th Commemoration of the the Vietnam War, an initiative under the direction of the Department of Defense.  You may go to  www.vietnamwar50th.com (see the winter 2013 archived newsletter for partnership listings for this documentation) for more information.

Kopperl ISD is honored to have the opportunity to participate in the annual Veteran’s Day Parade in Waco and to host a yearly “Valentines for Veterans” event in the school’s new gym.  Being a small school, Kopperl students have opportunities at both events to personally say “Thank you” to many veterans, shake their hands, and give them cards.  The sincere personal touch of KISD students reaches the hearts of veterans in a special and unforgettable way.  When veterans see these leadership qualities in younger Americans, their spirits are renewed, and they are inspired to see the seeds of greatness growing in the next generation.  Great Americans make America great, and Kopperl ISD is honored to be leading the way in developing character traits that yield integrity, and therefore, greatness.  Honoring and thanking our veterans who have so selflessly sacrificed for our freedom to endure is basic to being a “Great American” and speaks volumes for the community of Kopperl, showcasing what is truly best in America.
